Gregorio Urbano Gilbert Suero, quien naci\u00f3 en esta ciudad el 25 de mayo de 1898 aunque despu\u00e9s se estableci\u00f3 en San Pedro de Macor\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p>La misma ordenanza, dada a conocer por el vocero de la Presidencia, Roberto Rodr\u00edguez Marchena, establece que el 10 de enero de cada a\u00f1o ser\u00e1 dedicado a la conmemoraci\u00f3n del D\u00eda de Gregorio Urbano Gilber y designa con su nombre el puerto de San Pedro de Macor\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p>Nacido en Puerto Plata, Gregorio Urbano Gilbert Suero fue un patriota que defendi\u00f3 la soberan\u00eda y la dignidad del territorio dominicano en 1916 y 1965 ante la intervenci\u00f3n militar norteamericana.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n, form\u00f3 parte importante del movimiento nacionalista denominado \u201cLos Gavilleros\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de tener una edad avanzada y serios problemas de salud, fue un apoyo de importancia para los combatientes constitucionalistas, quienes bajo el mando del coronel Francisco Alberto Caama\u00f1o De\u00f1\u00f3, enfrentaron con bravura de leyenda la segunda intervenci\u00f3n militar norteamericana, en
